Black British female managers—The silent catastrophe

چکیده

The researcher examined the experiences of Black British female managers (BBFM) who worked for Children and Young People's Services (CYPS) operating in UK. following research questions guided this study: How do experience racial microaggressions how they cope with it? Purposive theoretical sampling were used to recruit 10 BBFM CYPS had similar demographic characteristics (i.e., racial/ethnic background managerial experience). Interview transcripts analyzed using constructivist grounded theory (Charmaz, 2006a). Over 200 codes identified extracted from individual interview transcripts. Organizing into categories resulted five themes that highlighted challenging practices perceived thwarted their careers Organizational Culture, On Outside Looking In, Stereotype Threat, Prejudice, Discrimination Institutional Racism Espoused Practice vs. Reality), one theme described coping strategies Silent Catastrophe). Although study is centered on a multisectorial sample, two main conclusions can be drawn study. First, gendered racism curtails career development ways are not experienced by White counterparts. Second, perceive was fundamentally negatively disproportionate aversive. implication leaders must give gender equality, diversity inclusion greater priority.

Supermassive Black Holes Can Hardly Be “Silent”

There is now ample evidence that most perhaps all galactic spheroids host a supermassive BH at their center. This has been assessed using a variety of observational techniques, from stellar and/or gas dynamics to megamasers. Yet another promising technique is offered by the case of the Virgo elliptical NGC 4552, in which early HST/FOC observations revealed a central low-luminosity flare. Subseq...

Non-Abelian black holes and catastrophe theory. II. Charged type.

We reanalyze the gravitating monopole and its black hole solutions in the EinsteinYang-Mills-Higgs system and we discuss their stabilities from the point of view of catastrophe theory. Although these non-trivial solutions exhibit fine and complicated structures, we find that stability is systematically understood via a swallow tail catastrophe. The Reissner-Nordström trivial solution becomes un...

Non-Abelian black holes and catastrophe theory: Neutral type.

We re-analyze the globally neutral non-Abelian black holes and present a unified picture, classifying them into two types; Type I (black holes with massless non-Abelian field) and Type II (black holes with “massive” non-Abelian field). For the Type II, there are two branches: The black hole in the high-entropy branch is “stable” and almost neutral, while that in the low entropy branch, which is...

Stability of non-Abelian black holes and catastrophe theory.

Two types of self-gravitating particle solutions found in several theories with nonAbelian fields are smoothly connected by a family of non-trivial black holes. There exists a maximum point of the black hole entropy, where the stability of solutions changes. This criterion is universal, and the changes in stability follow from a catastrophe-theoretic analysis of the potential function defined b...
